Crutchlow nails Czech GP pole
Cal Crutchlow claimed his second career pole position in yesterday’s qualifying for the Czech Grand Prix.
The British Yamaha rider, who also dominated a morning free practice session, secured top spot in today’s race by covering the 5.403-kilometer Brno circuit in 1 minute, 55.527 seconds. Crutchlow, who is seeking his first MotoGP victory, finished third last year in Brno. Alvaro Bautista of Spain had the second fastest time on his Honda in 1:55.754 while another Spaniard, world championship leader Marc Marquez, was third in 1:55.863. In his maiden MotoGP season, Marquez leads the overall standings with 188 points, followed by Dani Pedrosa on 167 and Jorge Lorenzo with 153. Pedrosa, who won the Brno race last year, was fourth in 1:55.868.
