Daytona crash

Memo Gidley had surgery on his left arm and leg after a terrifying accident in the early stages of the Rolex 24 at Daytona. Gidley and fellow driver Matteo Malucelli remained at a nearby hospital for further evaluation and testing following their two-car crash on Saturday near the three-hour mark of the prestigious endurance race. Race officials said both drivers were awake and communicating, but gave no other information about their conditions. Gidley had to be cut out of the Corvette.
