F1 deadline

FORMULA One boss Bernie Ecclestone has announced a December 9 deadline to decide whether there will be a British Grand Prix next year. After Donington Park's failure to find the money to stage the race, it had looked set to return to Silverstone. But talks appear to have stalled, and Ecclestone said yesterday that the next meeting of the F1 commission would decide whether to take it off the 2010 schedule. Ecclestone told BBC Radio that "if there's no contract in place (by December 9) there won't be a British Grand Prix." The British GP has taken place every year since 1948 at various circuits.
