Ferrari mechanic struck by Kimi鈥檚 car OK after surgery

The Ferrari mechanic who was hospitalized with a broken leg after being struck by Kimi Raikkonen鈥檚 car says he is 鈥淥K鈥 following surgery.
On Instagram, Francesco Cigarini wrote 鈥淪urgery ok. I have to thank all the people worried for me.鈥 Cigarini included a photo of himself on a hospitable bed giving the thumbs up with his left leg covered in a cast from his thigh down to his toes. The post was liked by Raikkonen. The incident occurred during a botched tire change at the Bahrain Grand Prix on Sunday. As Raikkonen pulled away, his rear left tire hit Cigarini鈥檚 leg, knocking him to the ground. Ferrari said Cigarini likely sustained a 鈥渟hinbone and fibula fracture.鈥 Fellow Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel won the race at the Sakhir circuit for his second straight victory after Melbourne to begin the new Formula One season.
