Kart world lands in Beijing with GPKS Series race

The 2018 Grand Prix Karting Scholarship Series held its second race at the Beijing Red1Karting Center yesterday.

It was the first time that the Chinese capital played host to the series, which brought together 15 young racers from around the country. Eight-year-old Li Rongbin 鈥 a Beijing native 鈥 was the youngest driver at the Beijing stop. Luo Zijuan won the 12-lap Cadet Final at the 1.3-kilometer track, clocking 11:47.700. Ke Shuncheng won the 15-lap Junior Final in a time of 14:00.119. Coming into its second year, GPKS is meant to provide a fair and standard competition platform for China鈥檚 young kart drivers, who are provided with same-brand karts, technicians and backup support. The next three stops 鈥 from July to September 鈥 are in Henan鈥檚 Zhengzhou, Zhejiang鈥檚 Wenzhou and Shanghai.
