Kristensen to retire
NINE-TIME Le Mans champion Tom Kristensen says he will retire from racing at the end of the month.
The 47-year-old Dane, one of the greatest endurance racers of all time, said he feels he has “crossed the finish line”. Kristensen’s last race will be the Six Hours of Sao Paulo in Brazil on November 30. Kristensen earned his first 24 Hours of Le Mans victory in 1997. He then won six straight from 2000-05, taking him past the six-win record held by Belgian Jacky Ickx. He added two more wins in 2008 and 2013.
