New Chinese Grand Prix Trophy Unveiled
THE 2010 Formula One Chinese Grand Prix unveiled a new trophy yesterday.
Inspiration for the design came from Chinese mythology. The pewter trophy looks like a "Fenghuolun" (a wheel of fire), which was a weapon used by Nezha, a deity in Chinese mythology who is often depicted flying with a wheel of fire under each foot. Nezha is known for his power and speed, which is what motor racing is all about.
The Chinese Grand Prix will be held at Shanghai International Circuit from April 16 to 18. With 2010 marking the last year of Shanghai's contract to hold the race, organizers are in talks with F1 for an extension.
