THE 2018 Grand Prix Karting Scholarship Series held its third race — and the first in Henan Province — at the Zhengzhou Fengsu Karting Park yesterday. The event saw 11 youngsters from around China race in 38 degrees Celsius heat. Zhengzhou native Dong Zi’ao won both the 12-lap Cadet Final 1 and 14-lap Cadet Final 2. Huang Xizheng won both the 15-lap Junior Final 1 and 21-lap Junior Final 2. In its second year, GPKS tests China’s young kart drivers, who are provided with same-brand karts, technicians and backup support. The next two stops will be in Zhejiang’s Wenzhou and Shanghai.
