Singapore Gamblers Shrug Off Race Fixing
SINGAPORE gamblers shrugged off news that last year's Formula One race in the city-state was fixed.
Betting started yesterday for this weekend's race and there was little sign the scandal had affected gamblers.
"We have not seen any unusual trends for F1 motor racing betting activity. Sales have been within expectations," said a spokeswoman for Singapore Pools, the betting operator.
Some gamblers said fixing was a part of many sports and that the prospect of winning big was too much of a temptation.
