Pedrosa takes pole for Malaysian GP
DANI Pedrosa of Spain led recently crowned MotoGP champion Casey Stoner in a Honda sweep of qualifying yesterday for the Malaysian Grand Prix.
Pedrosa had an early fall but recovered to take pole position by setting a new lap record of 2 minutes 1.462 seconds at Sepang, edging Stoner by nearly three-hundredths of a second. Italy's Andrea Dovizioso capped Honda's impressive day by finishing third fastest with a lap of 2:01.666 ahead of American rider Colin Edwards on a Yamaha, who timed at 2:02.010. Stoner clinched his second title at Phillip Island in his native Australia last week.
