Lifetime ban?

THE Italian Olympic committee's anti-doping office called for distance-runner Roberto Barbi to receive a lifetime ban yesterday.

Barbi tested positive for EPO and ephedrine following the Mende half marathon in France. It was Barbi's third doping violation.
