Australia wins Tokyo Sevens
MATT Lucas scored a late conversion that gave Australia a 28-26 win over Samoa in yesterday's final of the Tokyo Sevens rugby tournament.
New Zealand remained first in the overall IRB Sevens world series after seven of nine tournaments. The New Zealanders have 128 points, Fiji is second with 122, and third-placed South Africa has 105, one point ahead of England. Earlier, Alatasi Tupou scored a sudden death extra time try as Samoa beat New Zealand 17-12 in the semifinal. Australia beat England 33-12 in the other semifinal.
