Chinese men fourth in Borneo Sevens
CHINA'S men finished fourth at rugby's Borneo Sevens in East Malaysia after losing 14-27 to Hong Kong, China, in the third-place playoff, but their semifinal appearance in the second and final ranking event of the HSBC Asian Sevens Series helped them finish joint-third in the standings.
Japan beat the Philippines 46-0 in the Cup final and also topped the ranking in the inaugural HSBC Asian Sevens Series. The Chinese women's team, winner of last month's Shanghai Sevens, lost 10-24 to Papua New Guinea in the final of the eight-team tournament. The HSBC Asian Sevens Series will resume after a hiatus in November with events in Goa, India, and Bangkok, Thailand.
