Eagles go with Kolb
THE Kevin Kolb era was rung in by the Philadelphia Eagles when the National Football League club gave their new starting quarterback an extension worth more than US$12 million. Kolb, 25, who had been back-up for Donovan McNabb before he was traded to NFC East division rivals the Washington Redskins in the offseason, was given a one-year extension and bonus that locked him up through the 2011 season, the club said. "We're happy to have Kevin under contract for the next two seasons," head coach Andy Reid said in a statement on the team's Website.
