Force top Waratahs for 5th consecutive victory
THE Western Force moved into second place in Super Rugby’s Australia conference with a club-record fifth consecutive win, beating the New South Wales Waratahs 28-16 yesterday.
Winger Nick Cummins scored three tries for the Force as the Western Australia side moved to within three points of first-placed ACT Brumbies. Wallabies fullback Israel Folau was controversially removed from the Waratahs’ lineup by the Australian Rugby Union on Friday less than 36 hours after New South Wales deemed Folau fit to play. In Hamilton, New Zealand, the Canterbury Chiefs saw off Australia’s Melbourne Rebels 22-16.
