Harrison honored

PITTSBURGH Steelers linebacker James Harrison has been named the league's defensive player of the year, the National Football League said on Thursday. The 30-year-old recorded a career-high 101 tackles and 16 sacks during the 2008 season. Harrison, who will play for the Steelers in tomorrow's Super Bowl against the Arizona Cardinals, was one of five finalists for the honor.
