Henry rings in Tri-Nations changes

NEW Zealand coach Graham Henry sent a clear message to his top players yesterday with a little more than a year remaining before the next World Cup.
Nobody is safe.
Henry dropped four players who appeared in Saturday's 29-10 win over Wales for next month's Tri-Nations, three of whom could have been expected to have been retained in the squad for the annual tournament that also involves South Africa and Australia.
Winger Zac Guildford, prop Neemia Tialata and flanker Adam Thomson were dropped, along with hooker Aled de Malmanche, with center Ma'a Nonu, loose forward Liam Messam, prop John Afoa and hooker Corey Flynn replacing them in the 28-man squad.
Nonu returns from a knee injury, Messam and Flynn impressed for New Zealand Maori in their victories over Ireland and England, while tighthead Afoa was included for his versatility after he played hooker for the Barbarians against the Maori.
"There are a large number of quality players who haven't been selected and that's always difficult," Henry told reporters in Hamilton.
