Irish great Kyle dies at 88

JACK Kyle, the Ireland flyhalf widely considered as one of the greatest rugby players of all time, has died. He was 88.
Ulster said in a statement on its website yesterday that Kyle died in his sleep. Kyle played 46 times for Ireland, scoring seven tries, and was voted the best ever Irish rugby player by the country’s union in 2002. He was inducted into the world governing body’s Hall of Fame in 1999. Kyle represented the British and Irish Lions on their tour of New Zealand and Australia in 1950, playing in 20 of 29 games, including all six tests. He retired from rugby in 1963.
