Japan chases spot
THE third Asian Five Nations event gets under way this weekend with a place at next year's rugby World Cup tantalizingly within reach. Japan, which won the first two versions and are clear favorites to clinch Asia's guaranteed berth at rugby's showpiece tournament, get the first week off as Hong Kong hosts South Korea and the Arabian Gulf visits Kazakhstan. The winners of the tournament will take a place in Pool A alongside hosts New Zealand, France, Tonga and Canada, while the runners up can also qualify through a two-round repechage.
