Stormers top
THE Stormers preserved their unbeaten record through seven rounds of rugby's Super 15 yesterday, beating the Otago Highlanders 21-6 in Dunedin in a clash of the competition's top two teams. Winger Gio Aplon and fullback Joe Pietersen scored first-half tries as the Cape Town-based Stormers extended their early season winning streak to retain their place atop the championship table. The Highlanders lost for the second time in seven games to drop back to third place on the overall table ahead of their bye week and to hold second place behind the Waikato Chiefs in the New Zealand conference. In another match, the Cheetahs beat the Lions 26-5.
