Tameifuna shines with 2 tries as Chiefs belt Blues
MAN mountain Ben Tameifuna scored a try in each half to fire the Waikato Chiefs to an emphatic 32-20 home win over the Auckland Blues in their Super Rugby match in New Plymouth yesterday.
The hulking tighthead prop touched down after 10 minutes and barged over from the back of a ruck two minutes after the break as the double defending champions Chiefs grabbed four tries and a bonus point to tighten their grip atop the New Zealand conference.
Elsewhere, flyhalf Beauden Barrett kicked seven goals from nine attempts for 20 points as the Wellington Hurricanes beat the Rebels 25-15 in Melbourne yesterday.
