Wallabies win

AUSTRALIA beat England 27-17 in the first of two rugby tests yesterday with two tries from flyhalf Quade Cooper. Wallabies captain Rocky Elsom and Cooper scored tries as Australia took a 14-0 lead to halftime in Perth. England's starting front row of Tim Payne, Dan Cole and Steve Thompson took control of scrums to help England rally in the second half. Australia was forced by injuries to name its most inexperienced front row in almost three decades, with only two test caps among the five front rowers in its match 22.
