Welsh WCup squad

WALES has selected lock Alun-Wyn Jones, prop Samson Lee and winger Liam Williams in its 31-man squad for the Rugby World Cup, despite concerns over their fitness heading into the tournament. Jones strained medial ligaments in his knee during Wales’ 16-10 win over Ireland in a warm-up game on Saturday and is a doubt for the team’s opening World Cup group match, against Uruguay on September 20. With fellow lock Luke Charteris also nursing a leg injury, Wales coach Warren Gatland chose five second-rowers. Lee has not played since March because of an Achilles tendon injury, while Williams is recovering from foot surgery.
