3-time Olympic speedskater Ed Rudolph dies
THREE-TIME Olympic speedskater Ed Rudolph of the United States has died in a car accident in western Wyoming.
The Wyoming State Patrol says that 68-year-old Rudolph and his wife, Gwen, were killed Sunday afternoon when the driver of another vehicle swerved to avoid a deer and collided with Rudolph's car.
Fifty-two-year-old Daniel Wahlen, the driver of the other car, and 47-year-old Dani Elenga, a passenger, also died. All four lived in Colorado Springs.
Rudolph was a member of the 1960, 1964 and 1968 US Olympic teams. He went on to become a developer in Colorado Springs and volunteered to help build the Colorado Springs Olympic Training Center.
