Chan Skates To World Record
PATRICK Chan of Canada has set a world record to take the lead in the men's short program at the World Figure Skating Championships in Moscow.
Chan scored 93.02 points for his routine, besting Yevgeny Pluschenko's old mark of 91.30 set at the European championships in Tallinn, Estonia, in January last year. Chan was the world runner-up the last two years, and set his previous personal best of 88.90 in February 2009.
