Han caps clean sweep at inaugural Shanghai Trophy

THE 2016 Shanghai Trophy in short-track speed skating and synchronized skating dropped its curtain at Shanghai Oriental Sports Center yesterday.
China’s skating team clinched all six gold medals available in the individual races at the three-day event. Han Tianyu won the men’s 1,000-meter title yesterday, clocking 1 minute, 29.27 seconds. The silver and bronze medals went to compatriots Shi Jingnan and Wu Dajing. The ladies 1,000 crown went to Qu Chunyu in 1:38.11. Her teammates Fan Kexin and Guo Yihan took silver and bronze. The inaugural Shanghai Trophy combined short-track speed skating and synchronized skating in the same event for the first time.
