Super G canceled
A MEN'S World Cup super-G was canceled yesterday because of bad weather conditions. The race, which would have been the last on Kvitfjell's Olympic course in Norway after two downhills on Friday and Saturday, will not be rescheduled during the World Cup finals starting on Wednesday in Are, Sweden.
The super-G title will be decided there on Thursday. Hermann Maier, the 36-year-old double Olympic champion from Austria, leads Aksel Lund Svindal of Norway 231 points to 212. Croat Ivica Kostelic and Benjamin Raich of Austria tied on 837 points will fight for men's overall title.
