Crash ends Brem’s season
WORLD Cup giant slalom champion Eva-Maria Brem’s season was declared over yesterday after the Austrian crashed in training and suffered major injuries to her lower left leg. “Both her fibula and tibia are fractured,” said Christian Hoser, chief medic at the Austrian ski federation. “The likely break from skiing will be 4-6 months.” The accident, at the Thurn Pass ahead of the World Cup slalom in Levi, Finland, next weekend, came a few days after the 28-year-old Brem won the Austrian Sportswoman of the Year award.
