Svindal soars to super-G victory
Norway’s Aksel Lund Svindal won the men’s Alpine skiing World Cup super-G race at Val Gardena in Italy yesterday.
The overall World Cup leader chalked up his 24th career victory as he clocked a fastest time of 1 minute, 35.82 seconds with Jan Hudec of Canada second and Frenchman Adrien Theaux third. It was a third World Cup win of the season for the Norwegian and it consolidated his lead atop the overall standings.
