Lee appeals ban
British snooker player Stephen Lee is appealing against his 12-year ban for match-fixing. World Snooker said in a statement yesterday it has been informed by Lee’s lawyers that the former fifth-ranked player “is appealing against the finding of the tribunal, the sanction and the costs awarded”. The 38-year-old Lee, who won five events in his 21-year professional career, was found guilty last month of manipulating seven matches in 2008 and 2009. He said he is “totally innocent” of the charges.
