RONNIE O’Sullivan overcame a sluggish start to beat Stuart Bingham 6-5 on Saturday and reach his first UK Championship final for seven years.
O’Sullivan, who completed his fourth-round win over Mark Selt with a 147 break, fell 4-1 down in the early stages at York’s Barbican Centre, but he hit back with breaks of 62, 68, 67 and 117 to level the semifinal. His storming comeback disturbed Bingham’s concentration and the Essex cueman duly completed victory with a break of 94 to set up a showdown with Judd Trump who beat Stephen Maguire 6-4.
