10-man Udinese pegs back Roma

ROMA'S three-match Serie A-winning streak ended with a 1-1 draw at 10-man Udinese on Saturday.

Erik Lamela put Roma ahead 20 minutes in at Stadio Friuli by knocking in a rebound of a header from Alessandro Florenzi that banged off the crossbar.

Luis Muriel equalized for Udinese in the 62nd, shooting in under the legs of Roma goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg.

Udinese finished a man down after defender Thomas Heurtaux was shown a questionable direct red for tripping Florenzi in the 73rd.

"It was a good game against a good team like Roma, and in the end it was a decent draw for us," Udinese forward Antonio Di Natale said.

Roma moved within a point of sixth-place Fiorentina, which was to play Lazio late yesterday. Udinese is three points behind Roma in ninth.
