10-match biting ban
AN English lower-league player has been banned for 10 matches by the English Football Association following allegations that he bit an opponent during a game. Joss Labadie, who plays for fourth-tier team Torquay, was charged by the FA with violent conduct following a match against Chesterfield on February 15. The FA says in a statement yesterday that Labadie was found to be guilty of the charge at a hearing of an independent panel. Labadie denied the charge. Liverpool striker Luis Suarez was banned by the FA for 10 matches in April last year for biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic during an English Premier League game.
