AFC deal with anti-graft agency
The Asian Football Confederation has contracted Sportradar, the Swiss-based sports and betting data intelligence agency, to monitor its leading competitions for signs of betting-related corruption and fraudulent activity.
The agreement comes after the firm alerted authorities in Australia earlier this year of an extensive match-fixing syndicate which resulted in four players and an official receiving indefinite global bans. Tournaments which the agency will monitor include the AFC Champions League, AFC Cup and the 2015 Asian Cup and qualifiers.
