Alaves axes coach again

Trigger happy La Liga struggler Alaves has sacked its coach for the second time this season as Italian Gianni de Biasi was dismissed after just seven games in charge yesterday. De Biasi oversaw Alaves’ only two La Liga victories this season against Levante and Espanyol, but defeats to Real Sociedad, Real Betis, Valencia, Getafe and Eibar have left the Basques rooted to the bottom of the table, six points off safety. Javier Cabello, who took charge for defeats to Deportivo la Coruna and Real Madrid earlier in the season after Luis Zubeldia’s sacking, has once again been put in temporary charge.
