SEVEN soccer fans were killed in a stampede at a match between two of Kenya's top teams, a local television station, NTV, said yesterday.
A second television station, KTN, said eight were dead, citing police sources.
The stampede took place inside the Nyayo National stadium in the capital Nairobi during a match between AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia. The match was temporarily halted to allow emergency services to help the injured, television pictures showed.
