Australia 180-3
Australia spoiled a solid start to a must-win third Ashes test by losing the wickets of Shane Watson and Usman Khawaja to reach tea at 180-3 against England yesterday at Old Trafford in Manchester. Chris Rogers was still there in the middle and playing beautifully on a test-best 67 not out after hitting 12 fours but the Australians lost the initiative after looking in control on 76-0. Watson departed for 19 when he edged Tim Bresnan to Alastair Cook at first slip before Khawaja (1) followed in controversial circumstances, with umpires ruling he edged Graeme Swann to wicketkeeper Matt Prior.
