Ba to have another leg surgery, out for the season
DEMBA Ba is unlikely to join Shanghai Greenland Shenhua for the rest of the 2017 season, as the Senegal striker is scheduled to undergo another surgery on his left leg.
Ba was loaned to Turkish side Besiktas in January after having successful surgery in his broken leg in Shanghai last July. His contract with Besiktas ended last month, and he was expected to return to Gus Poyet’s team which lies a disappointing 12th in the Chinese Super League table. However, according to Shanghai Morning Post, a latest test report showed that a slight fracture pattern had been spotted in Ba’s left leg, which needs repair surgery. The surgery is expected to be done on June 22 in France by Olivier Bringer, the same French surgeon who operated upon Ba in Shanghai last year. Ba is expected to rest for at least two months after the repair surgery, and is unlikely to return to Shenhua for the rest of the season, said the paper.
