FC Basel said star forward Xherdan Shaqiri will join its Champions League round-of-16 opponent Bayern Munich at the end of the current season.
Basel said it has a policy of "not preventing a player from transferring to a higher ranked league" when the right offer comes. Shaqiri had been expected to move in January.
