Bayern ‘keeper Neuer signs contract extension to 2021
BAYERN Munich says it has extended the contract of goalkeeper Manuel Neuer until 2021.
Neuer’s original contract was set to run out in 2019. The 30-year-old Germany goalkeeper joined Bayern in 2011 from Schalke. Bayern has now extended the deals of several key players. The contracts of Jerome Boateng, Thomas Mueller, Javi Martinez and David Alaba all run now until 2021. Bayern is seeking the second treble in the club’s history as coach Pep Guardiola prepares to leave at the end of the season for Manchester City. The team is in the final of the German Cup, having beaten Werder Bremen 2-0 on Tuesday, and is closing in on a record fourth straight Bundesliga title. Bayern is also in the semifinals of the UEFA Champions League, where it plays Spain’s Atletico Madrid.
