DAVID Beckham’s new Major League Soccer franchise will be known as Inter Miami.
A statement said Beckham’s team, which is due to join the league in 2020, would be officially named Club Internacional de Futbol Miami.
The name, which mirrors Serie A giants Inter Milan, was chosen to reflect Miami’s status as a “truly global location that welcomes and embraces all cultures and communities.”
“This is such a proud day for myself and for the entire team,” Beckham said. “It’s an honor to announce the new name and crest to our fans.”
