FORMER English skipper David Beckham may face his former club Real Madrid in July as his Major League Soccer team set up a friendly against the Spanish Primera Liga giants.
The Galaxy will play Real on July 16 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
It could be Beckham's first time to face Real since he joined the Los Angeles Galaxy in 2007. An injury that ended the star midfielder's World Cup dream had kept him from playing last year in Real's 3-2 victory over the Galaxy.
"We are very excited to once again welcome back Real Madrid," said Galaxy president Tom Payne. "The excitement for this rematch will surely capture the attention of all sports fans in Southern California."
Real defeated the Galaxy 2-0 in 2005, two years before Beckham signed his five-year deal to join Los Angeles after his Madrid deal expired.
