Boateng agrees to join Bayern

MANCHESTER City defender Jerome Boateng is to join Bayern Munich on a four-year contract after the clubs reached a deal, the Bundesliga side said yesterday.
"The board of Bayern Munich and the board of Manchester City have agreed today on a transfer of Jerome Boateng," the Bavarians said on their website. Bayern said the Germany international would have a medical in the coming days before signing a contract until 2015. Elsewhere, Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish is heading back to England to finalize the signing of Stewart Downing from Aston Villa.
