Jozy Altidore started the comeback by scoring his first goal for the club before Connor Wickham netted twice. Adam Johnson drilled in the fourth.

Liverpool was up 2-0 against Notts County, but the League One side scored twice to force the game into extra time when the hosts re-asserted their authority to win 4-2.

Raheem Sterling, Daniel Sturridge with two and Jordan Henderson did the damage for Liverpool

Also, Hull defeated Leyton Orient 1-0, West Ham stopped Cheltenham 2-1, Norwich stuffed Bury 6-3, West Bromwich Albion eased past Newport 3-0, and Southampton handled Barnsely 5-1.
