CFA called upon to review Shanghai SIPG striker Hulk's alleged hitting incident
THE Chinese Football Association (CFA) has been called upon to launch a probe into an alleged brawl involving Shanghai SIPG striker Hulk.
At a press conference after Shanghai SIPG beat Guizhou 3-0 on Saturday, Li Bing, coach for the visitors, accused Brazilian international Hulk of beating and cursing his assistant.
However, Shanghai SIPG claimed that the event a falsehood.
The coaches of the two teams got into an argument during the May 6 Chinese Super League match between the two sides. Li Bing said the conflict escalated after the match and that Hulk hit Guizhou's assistant in the tunnel at half time.
"Elite overseas players are welcome to join the Chinese Super League. I hope that they can not only help raise the competence of Chinese soccer but also set an example in professionalism," said Li.
"But Hulk insulted Yu Ming, our assistant, and knocked Yu down when we approached him."
On May 7, Shanghai SIPG published a letter on their social media account: "Our club is paying close attention to the event. We found that the accusation that Hulk knocked Yu Ming down is not true, after reviewing the closed circuit television. We ask Li Bing and Guizhou to walk back what they said."
Soccer pundits are calling on the CFA to investigate the case as soon as possible.
