Cortese quits Southampton

Southampton said chairman Nicola Cortese has resigned from his post at the English Premier League club, a move that could jeopardize manager Mauricio Pochettino.
Southampton posted a string of messages on its Twitter page on Wednesday in which the club’s owner, Katharina Liebherr, confirmed Cortese’s departure and said she would be taking over as non-executive chairman. Liebherr said “it is business as usual and we will ensure that the manager, team and staff at the club have all the help and support they need.”
