England battling to save 3rd test
ENGLAND was 221 for seven at tea, needing a further 125 runs to reach its victory target of 346, on the fifth day of the third and final test match against South Africa at Lord's yesterday.
Matt Prior was batting on 35 and Graeme Swann on 12 with the new ball available to South Africa 10 overs into the final session. The most England has ever made in the fourth innings to win a test is the 332 for seven it posted against Australia at Melbourne back in 1928/29. South Africa leads the three-match series 1-0 and needs to avoid defeat to replace England as the world's top-ranked test side.
