Eto'o nears Inter move, Barca signs Keirrison
BARCELONA'S Cameroon striker Samuel Eto'o has agreed personal terms with Inter Milan, his agent said yesterday as a swap deal involving Zlatan Ibrahimovic moved closer.
After another meeting with Inter officials in Milan, Josep Mesalles said a deal had been reached and he would now go back to Barcelona to settle matters there.
"The only problem is a loyalty bonus with Barcelona. It should be settled in a week or so," he told the ANSA news service after leaving the meeting.
Inter's Sweden striker Ibrahimovic, who injured his hand in the Italian champions' friendly defeat by Chelsea in California this week, has yet to agree terms with European champion Barcelona.
The complicated swap deal, which involves Barcelona also paying cash, could see Barca midfielder Aleksandr Hleb move to Inter on loan if Eto'o and Ibrahimovic sign.
Barcelona meanwhile has agreed to sign Brazilian forward Keirrison from Palmeiras on a five-year contract for 14 million euros (US$19.9 million), the Spanish and European champions said yesterday.
The fee for the 20-year-old, who is due to have a medical today, could rise to 16 million euros depending on how many matches he plays for the first team, Barca said on its Website.
He will be loaned out during the coming season to a club yet to be determined, it added.
Barca said Keirrison was one of the sensations of the 2008 season in Brazil, during which he scored 21 league goals for his previous club Coritiba. He moved to Palmeiras in January and scored five goals in seven league matches.
"Many see in this young player the potential centre forward for the Brazilian national team at the 2014 World Cup," the Catalan club added.
