Evergrande scoffs at Barrios' claims
GUANGZHOU Evergrande has paid former Borussia Dortmund striker Lucas Barrios in full amount and on time according to the contract, the Chinese Super League club said yesterday, reacting to the recent contract dispute.
The league champion has categorically denied the Paraguay international's claim that the club had deprived him of "a substantial amount of the overall remuneration agreed upon in the contract". The club blamed Barrios, saying the 28-year-old was supposed to return on June 6 after he flew home for a match against Chile but he failed to show up and missed three league matches as well as training sessions until June 24.
