Freestyle football
Freestyle football will be introduced in some local schools to boost the young generation’s interest towards football in general and the sport in particular.
Unlike football, freestyle football is regarded as the art of self-expression with a football, while performing various tricks with any part of the body. “It can be played in any street or path and all you need is a ball,” explained Daniel Wood, president of the Freestyle Football Federation. Wood signed a cooperative contract with Shanghai Xiaoyuan Cultural Communication Company yesterday. The two sides will collaborate to introduce an educational program in the next few years to promote freestyle football in countries like China, Australia and Cambodia. Under the cooperation, Xiaoyuan will organize training sessions for sports teachers of some local schools so they can pass on their knowledge to students during football classes.
